# How We Rank CMMC Consultants

We rank firms on two things a contractor can check for themselves: the CMMC services a firm offers and the CMMC credentials it holds.

## What we look at

### CMMC services

Getting ready for CMMC usually takes four kinds of help: assessing where you stand, closing the gaps, preparing for the assessment, and keeping the program running afterward. Firms that offer more of that path rank higher.

### CMMC credentials

We check whether a firm is listed with the Cyber AB, as a Registered Practitioner Organization or an authorized C3PAO, and whether it has passed a CMMC Level 2 assessment of its own.

## Where the information comes from

Everything comes from public sources: each firm's website, its press releases, and its Cyber AB listing. Every profile links to the pages we used, so you can check them yourself.

## Using the ranking

Use the ranking to build a shortlist. Before you hire, ask each firm for references from companies your size, a written scope, and a fixed or capped fee.

## Corrections

If a listing is missing something or out of date, tell us through the contact page (https://cmmc-compliance.org/contact/) and we will update it.
